We call ourselves

CORNERSTONE because Jesus Christ, the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20), is the foundation of everything we believe and do.

CHRISTIAN because we are part of the historic Christian church that traces itself back to the New Testament and the Lord Jesus Christ.

REFORMED because we are rooted in the Reformation with its commitment to the Bible as the only authority for faith and life and to salvation by grace alone through Christ alone.

CHURCH because we have been gathered together and filled by the Holy Spirit to love one another and to love and bless our community.

We believe

  • in the Bible as the only inspired Word of God and as our final authority for our faith and life (2 Timothy 3:15-16)
  • in the only living and true God who has existed eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:19)
  • that we were created by God in His own image, have fallen into sin and are therefore separated from God and will live forever either in heaven or hell, depending on whether or not we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord. (Gen. 1:27, Romans 5:12, Jer. 17:9, Ephesians 2:12, John 3:16, 36)
  • in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in his sinless life, in His miracles, and that He came to earth to die to take the punishment for our sin by dying in our place, thereafter to rise from the dead and ascend into heaven, from where he will return at the close of the age to judge the living and the dead. (John 1:1, Matt. 1:25, 1 Peter 3:18, Acts 2:31-33, 2 Tim. 4:1)
  • that by renouncing and turning from sin (repentance) and putting faith in Jesus Christ as the Saviour from our sin and Lord of our lives, we are made right with God by his grace (as a free gift, not because of anything we do or deserve), given a spiritual rebirth, and are filled by God’s Spirit. (Acts 2:38, Gal. 2:16, John 3:5-7)

We are part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America
We believe that the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule for faith and life. This is your sub-headline

We affirm three creeds—the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed—as ecumenical expressions of the Christian faith. We also affirm three confessions—the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort—as historic Reformed expressions of the Christian faith, whose doctrines fully agree with the Word of God.

Along with these historic creeds and confessions, we recognize the following Reformedexpressions of the Christian faith, adopted by synod as contemporary testimonies: the call for unity, justice, and reconciliation of the Belhar Confession and the witness of Our World Belongs to God: A Contemporary Testimony.
